I owned a Pizzeria in the early 90's fired by an awesome wood burning oven, arguably the largest at the time. Since then I've always wanted my own private mini wood burning oven but did not have the uncover space to house it. Living in a log cabin made the choices more difficult and eventually I considered and researched a specific gas fired pizza oven before I saw the featured (GPB) on Facebook. Here was a compact option at a fraction of the price and if it didn't work as advertised then it could always be used as a normal braai with a warm draw facility - right! 😀
I make my own pizza bases and tomato toppings and set to work almost immediately after receiving my (GPB). I fired up the required amount of briquettes using the Gecko Coal Basket I also purchased which worked so well in getting the coal ready, evenly, for cooking. I cooked two pizzas perfectly from scratch, then decided to cook some pork rashers and kept leftovers warm in the "warm draw" after. Personally I think this little number is a game changer in outdoor cooking and entertainment.
